PRESS RELEASE
Launch of the DATEA-ACCESO Project
La Factura, a social enterprise dedicated to design and development of innovative communication strategies will develop the DATEA-ACCESO pilot project, which aims to map problems in urban infrastructure affecting people with physical disabilities, using the Internet.
DATEA-ACCESO uses the DATEA system (http://datea.pe) for participative mapping, previously used to map the Metropolitano BRT system and the city’s bicycle lanes. DATEA ACCESO promotes a campaign to raise awareness among local authorities and the general public about the need to create an inclusive city and promote the use of participative technologies to identify and address problems with accessibility in public spaces.
The DATEA-ACCESO project is developed in coordination with metropolitan authorities and different civil society associations, and counts with the support of the World Bank, the civic association Ciudad Nuestra and the Institute for Democracy and Human rights (IDEHPUCP).
The launch will take place this Thursday, June 28th at 18:00 in the “Salón de Espejos” of the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima (Jr. de la Unión N° 300 (Plaza de Armas) - Cercado de Lima.)
